Modern technology allows you to use your phone to control your window coverings. In the attached video you can see how to use an iPhone to control Hunter Douglas Applause Shades. All that is required is a phone with Android or IOS operating system, a Hunter Douglas blind or shade with the smart motor PowerView installed and a Hub, which is a programmable WiFi based piece of hardware. The key is the Hub. Once it is programmed, any phone which is attached to the WiFi network will be able to control the shades if the Hunter Douglas PowerView app is downloaded.

The Hub holds the programming, not the phone. You are even able to work the shades when you are away from the home using the RemoteConnect feature. One thing that you will notice if you watch the video is that when you have a Top Down/Bottom Up shade, both rails will move at the same time. This saves time and is very cool to watch.
