Soffits For Window Coverings
When you are building your house, it is best to consult with a window fashions expert early on in the process. This is because it is very easy to paint yourself into a corner with your window coverings. This post shows one option that many people choose for their homes in the Reno and Tahoe areas.
In this case, the clients have an arch top window. This type of window is a challenge to cover for the obvious reason that it is shaped. Because soffits were designed in this house to hide the motorized window treatment, we were able to provide room darkening for these Reno homeowners. When the shade is down, it is acting purely as a functional product. When it is up, it is completely out of the field of vision.
In the current trends of design, a clean look is a style that many people are considering. Angles tend to be more in acceptance, as opposed to curved lines. So, we are doing fewer arched windows, unless the design is very traditional. For contemporary design, we are seeing either rectangular or angle top windows.
But either way, when client want their shades to completely disappear, they are sometimes choosing to build their homes with soffits rather than just put valances up to cover their roller shades or other window coverings.

So, how would you know what other issues might arrive if you are building a new home in the Reno or Tahoe areas? You can do research by reading blogs like this. But, my suggestion is that you find a window treatment expert that you trust and consult with them. We have seen just about everything and we can help you design your home in a way that will be functional, stylish and keep you in a reasonable budget.
I don’t discuss pricing in the blog as a rule, but if someone wishes to hire us to fill this role, we charge a consultation fee. That fee is applied to the cost of the products when they purchase from us later on in the project.
