Skylight shades can be critical for the comfort in a home. They can control the amount of light that comes in. A homeowner can provide more insulation to their home. UV protection is increased. This blog will consider the Norman Window Fashions Smart-Fit skylight shades.
The Norman Portrait Honeycomb Shades were used on this job. We selected them for the following reasons.
- Costs- When it comes to skylight shades, costs can quickly escalate. The Norman Smart-Fit for skylights are very reasonable.
- Features- We used a feature called Deco-Flex. This low cost upgrade provided the frame that surrounds the skylight shade in the window. Any color that is in the Norman Shutter collection can be used.
- Style- Because the color we selected for the Deco-flex matched the wood so perfectly, it was an easy choice to make. The frame of the skylight shade also helps to eliminate the typical light gaps that are associated with skylight shades.
If you watch the video carefully, you will notice that there is a small gap at the edge of the frame to the edge of the window. The client had a painter scheduled to come the following week and caulk these edges with matching color caulking. So, by the time you read this, these gaps have been filled. These details are a huge deal to some of our clients and completely invisible to others.
