Shade Extension Wands
We get lots of calls for extension wands from people around the country. I am writing this post because I want to be clear about some details about these parts. An extension wand is helpful at reaching cordless operable shades when they are quite high. The principles that I am laying out in this blog are consistent for various companies, but this video shows the Hunter Douglas extension wand for their Duette and Applause Honeycomb Shades. Please watch the video and then we can discuss some facts that are important.
Other Extension Wand Types
I am including a couple of pictures here that clients have sent me asking for us to send them an extension wand. The reason that I’m sharing it is because you need to see the difference in the shapes of these handles. Some of these work with other systems and some do not. In previous blogs, I’ve talked about other methods of operating your shade, like putting a cup hook on a wood pole.
Whichever way you decide to go, it is always best to get the wand that is designed for your handle. Cross usage can work, but it can also cause you frustration. My suggestion is always to purchase the wand from the people or the company that provided the shades that you have installed. If you would like to get a wand from us, please just reach out and we will do our best to assist you. Thanks for reading our post.
