Patio Door Shutters come in many options and configurations. In the attached video you can see two options from Norman Window Fashions. The two choices shown are the BiFold 180 and the BiPass Panels. BiPass shutters have been available for a long time, but some of the options that you can do on them are seldom discussed.
For example, we are all familiar with BiPass shutters that slide past one another. In most configurations sold in the Reno area, the BiPass option that is chosen requires you to close all of the louvers before sliding the panels. Did you know that you can choose to go with a different option that allows you to leave the louvers open while still sliding the panels? This is a great choice when you want more light in the room. By allowing the louvers to be open, you come close to doubling the amount of light that comes in. Imagine a room with only the patio door as a natural light source. Wouldn’t you at least like to have the option of NOT blocking half the light from entering? There is one other choice that is rarely offered and that is sliding both panels completely off the window. You need to have the wall space for this option. It is not for everyone who wants patio door shutters, but it is good to have the ability to choose.
