So many clients are trying to figure out how to mechanize their window coverings. Motorization and automation has taken over the window coverings world. But sometimes, people aren’t looking for anything too complex. They just want a method of raising and lowering their shades that will be safe as well as simple and functional. I find that I’m helping choose the PowerWand mechanism through Alta Window Fashions. The primary reasons for choosing this system, PowerWand, is based on these points. I will list them in a moment after you see the video where it is visible.
You can see my right hand grabbing the wand. That is the PowerWand. Here are the reasons that it is a good selection for many people.
- It is one of the most affordable motorization options.
- There are 3 buttons on it. One for Up, one for down, and one for either stop or go to the “Favorites” position.
- The wand is connected to the motor which is rechargeable.
- There are different levels of motors available now. (November 2023) This gives you the ability to do large shades.
- The wand is available in various colors and can be ordered in various lengths. ( 1 foot increments)
- Unlike some motorizations, you can put the controls on either the left or the right side of the shade.
