Lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries offer several advantages over alkaline batteries. They have higher energy density, making them ideal for portable devices where size and weight matter. Rechargeable batteries also provide a longer lifespan, enduring more charge-discharge cycles before capacity degradation. They are rechargeable, offering convenience and long-term cost savings. With a consistent voltage output throughout their discharge cycle, Li-ion batteries maintain device performance. Additionally, they have a lower self-discharge rate, retaining charge when not in use. Overall, Li-ion batteries excel in energy density, lifespan, reusability, voltage stability, and self-discharge rate, making them a preferred choice for many applications.
Most of Kempler Design’s clients choose the rechargeable batteries for one simple reason. They hate having to replace 12 AA batteries in the standard Alkaline Battery Packs. But, there are a few other reasons that they benefit from going with Lithium Ion batteries. Our customers avoid the waste of throwing away standard batteries. They also avoid the damage that can come from “crushed” batteries that have a reaction and then corrode. How exciting to never have to deal with lower power that happens when Alkaline batteries become weaker.
