The Hunter Douglas Duette Vertiglide with PowerView motorization is the latest edition to the world’s best cellular shade family. As the video shows, the use is easy and relatively quiet. The system comes with either one or two battery packs, depending on the size of the shade. The batteries are mounted behind the valance and are easily accessible. Other power options are the plug in DC power option and a more robust battery system if the C size battery option is chosen. This product can be used with or without the motor.
Motorization Made Easy
All it takes is a gentle pull on the moving rail and the shade slides easily from side to side. You can also disengage the mechanism with a firm tug, in case of an urgent need or like a safety feature, like the auto stop on your garage door. The Vertiglide with PowerView is operable as left or right stack. There are no center stack options at this time.
This product is very reasonably priced in my opinion. The surcharge for this shade is only $275 retail. That is the same charge as a small standard shade, even though most Vertiglides are much bigger window coverings. Because this is a new release for Hunter Douglas, they are only releasing it on their premium lines. The value line, Applause cellular shades, do not have the PowerView option available. In time, the motorization for other lines will trickle down, as it always does. Please note that the release date for the new Hunter Douglas Duette line is July 5th, 2016.
