So much of what window fashions professionals are doing these days involves retrofit or remodel work. Today’s video will show how updating blinds or shades is not only visually pleasing, but also functionally superior to what is being replaced.
By far, the most popular product that has been installed over the past few years has been 2 inch wood/vinyl/metal blinds. They are good at what they do, which is provide privacy and provide shading due to their tilted slats. Before the craze of 2 inch blinds that have saturated the Reno and Tahoe markets, there were many 1 inch products. The standard mini blind was the king, and coming up close behind were the 1 inch wood blinds. I suppose people put them in because they were more classy than the aluminum variety, but they were a design nightmare. Heavy, difficult to keep clean and an inordinate amount of view blocked by the thick slats caused them to leave the market almost entirely. The biggest drawback to the 1 inch wood blinds is the huge stack at the top of the window when they are pulled up to the top. Watch the video to see why this client wanted to replace them with something much more simple.
