Many people assume that they have to put vertical blinds over their patio doors, but the truth is that there are many options. The video below shows one of these options, the Averte folding drapery-like window covering.
This product is available in a large assortment of natural woven materials. The company that offers the Averte is B & W Window Fashions, but there are a number of companies that have this offering.
The Averte is a very clean look, but like a drapery, it only offers an open and closed option, there is no tilting of vanes, like a vertical blind or Hunter Douglas’ Luminette Shading.
Customers tend to like the cleanness of the Averte as the stack is relatively small, and the function of the product is extremely easy. Just grab the moving rail and move the shade where you want.
Lining is optional on the Averte as either room darkening or light filtering, but the costs of adding the lining are surprisingly high, IMHO.
Bottom line- Know all your options when it comes to how to cover a patio door. A future posting will list more options for your door.
