We Can Build You a Custom Valance
We recently did a custom valance for a set of Hunter Douglas roller shades on French Doors. They have the Gen 2 PowerView motorization system. The relevance to why we built custom valances for them has to do with the version of PowerView that we used. The reasons that we needed to do something custom had to do with a couple of factors.
The first reason is because of the location of the rechargeable battery packs. Take a look at the photo here which shows the battery pack. It is very functional, but horribly unattractive if it were to be left uncovered.
The second reason is because of the movement of the doors in relation to the fireplace which is right next to them. If we were to use a valance that comes from Hunter Douglas, the thickness of the material would have caused the valance to hit the fireplace when the door is opened. By doing a completely custom valance out of sheet metal, we were able to keep the projection to the perfect size.
How a Custom Valance Helps You
When you choose a custom valance, you get a custom designer look for your home. And more than just the look, you get a functional application as well. Our goal, at Kempler Design Window Fashions is to identify what your needs are and then choose the best solution for you. In this case, the client wanted a very clean look that would hide the top of the shades. The look that it creates for this job was perfect.
Here a couple of facts about these top treatments. We designed the metal valances specifically for these shades. Every bit of them was custom designed. We had them built by a local artist who does metal and wood work. We then had the valances custom powder coated for a perfect finish. Then I installed them for the joy of the client. And I was very happy too, since when we do completely custom designed products that are unique, we need to see them completed to know how perfect they are. They were perfect!
