Luminette Shades Need to be Ordered Correctly
We did these Hunter Douglas Luminette Shades for a job in Reno NV recently. They had two patio sliders that came to a corner that were very large. One window slider is 15 feet wide and the one to its side is about 10’ wide. These are not easy to cover with a lot of window treatments because they are over the size limits for many products. The Luminette though is currently available up to 16’ wide. This opens all kinds of opportunities. Please watch the video and then we can discuss some details.
The important things you need to think about are stacking and how they will look when in various positions.
Stacking of Luminette Shades
Stacking is an important word. It means that all of the material is going to be sitting at one location
when the products are pushed to the side. This means that you have to be aware of how much space is needed for the stacking of the Luminette. When you look at the picture that is attached to this section, you will see me showing how much room the 10 foot shade takes up at the side of the opening. It is important that you know how much it takes. Take a look at the chart that I’m posting down below.
If you notice the shade on the right side of the video and look at the chart, you will notice that the shade stacking takes up a lot of room. When you look at the chart you will notice that the stacking of the 192” width is 41 1/2”. Any time we work with a client we make sure that they completely understand this. In this case, due to the width of the slider, we couldn’t stack the shades to the outside of the window completely. So, we let them know how much of the window was going to be blocked by the stacked shade. After consultation, design and installation, the client loves these Hunter Douglas Luminette Shades in their room.
