If you are renting a home with Hunter Douglas Battery- Lithium Ion (rechargeable batteries), you need to know how to exchange them. This is going to be a very simple blog to go with the video below. Please watch the video that shows the whole process.

Here are a couple of things that I didn’t discuss in the video. First, make sure the  Hunter Douglas battery is dead. If you have another shade nearby, then take the battery that powers it and exchange it with the dead shade. If the shade now works, then the other battery is dead. You will have to charge the dead one. If the shade still doesn’t work, then the problem is possibly with the shade motor itself. Or maybe, but highly unlikely, that battery is dead too.

You must locate the charging station. Hopefully, the management has informed you of where it is. The batteries that are in the charger should be charged. If so, then just replace the dead one with the newly charged battery. The only thing that you need to do is to firmly press the used battery into the bottom of the charging station. Also make sure that it is plugged in.

If the Hunter Douglas battery in the charger is dead then you have options. Leave it in the charger for a couple of hours until the green light comes on, showing that it is done charging. You can also move batteries around if you need to move shades that have no power.
