Motorized Shade Controls
Once you have power to your shades or blinds, you need to control them. This blog will talk about motorized shade controls. There are many ways to control them, but here and in the attached video, we will discuss three of them.
Please watch the video that deals with motorized shade controls and then read the follow up for a bit more information.
3 Options for Motorized Shade Controls
1. Remote Control Operation- With remote controls, it is about the same as with your television set. Just hit the button that corresponds to the action you wish to take. Every company has its own remote control, so you just need to be comfortable with the one you have selected. This video and blog discussed the Somfy motor system. They offer 3 basic remote controls, with various options.
They are all radio frequency, so you don’t have to point it at the shade. Just press the number and the shade will respond.
2. App control- With an app based system, like NeoControl in this case, your window fashions expert programs the shades to respond to commands. Typically, these are called scenes. These scenes can include your window shades, lighting, HVAC and other systems in your home. The scenes can be activated by a button or they can be automated to occur when you need them.
3. Specialty Remote Devices- The “Cubee” is a new device that is a stylish way to control your shades. It is just a simple remote, but when you see how it works, you may want a designer product like this in your home to act as a motorized shade control. This YouTube video shows you another view of this product and it’s app.
These 3 ways of controlling your shadings will cover almost any needs you have. But, as always, it is important to work with a window treatments expert to help you determine which products best meet your individual needs.
