Change Window Coverings?
So, you just moved into a new home for you, and they had existing window coverings, but something is just not right about them. That’s where a professional window fashions expert comes in. In the video embedded to this post, you can see this exact scenario.
There is nothing wrong with the shades that we removed. They were just not a good fit for the new homeowner.
- The stack at the top of the window was too big- 12″
- The mechanism was extremely slow.
- Umm, that’s about it…
Which is kind of the point. If one major thing is not working about your shades, shutters or blinds, then it might be in your best interest to change your window coverings.
You Are The Most Important Factor
In this case, the client is about 6’4″. This is an important factor in making decisions on window coverings. If he could gain about 9″ of view at the top of his window, then the whole reason he bought a home in the mountains can be accentuated. Also, if the time that it takes to open and close all his window coverings can be lowered, that is a “win”. It took about 20 seconds to open or close each window in the house. With the Hunter Douglas PowerView Roller Shades, one button could open or close the whole house. That equals a savings of about 12 -15 minutes a day for this homeowner.
In fact, since we installed the Hunter PowerView Hub, which is a WiFi based app and base unit. He doesn’t even have to press any buttons. His window coverings are pre-programmed to open and close based on how he and his family live.
So, after putting together all of the details and facts about the needs of the homeowner with how the existing shades worked, it was a no brainer to change to new window coverings for this Incline Village home.
