The focus of this blog is to talk about doing top down/bottom up shades on really wide windows. This window in north Reno NV is 96 inches wide. Many companies are unable to do a top down/bottom up shade for a window this wide.
Hunter Douglas Window Fashions is an exception. I did a check using the Hunter Douglas Applause cellular shade in the LifeScape fabric. What I found was that we can do a top down/bottom up shade for a window that is 80 square feet. Think about that for a second. If you have a window that is 120 inches wide by 96 inches tall, we can do one on it. That is 10 feet by 8 feet. Most people don’t have windows that are that large, but if they did, we’d have a solution.
This is one of the reasons that Kempler Design is a broker of many different companies. Some manufacturers are able to do shades and blinds that others cannot. We like to keep your options open, so as to find the right fit to your window treatment needs.
A little behind the scenes information for you, if you care to read it. The window coverings industry is going through a lot of changes. There used to be a lot of independent manufacturers out there. But, over the last 10 years or so, there have been many conglomerates that have swallowed up smaller companies. It is getting harder to find completely custom designed products anymore. We work very hard to stay independent. This enables us to provide the right solutions to your window coverings needs. Sometimes it requires some outside of the box thinking, but that’s the kind of stuff we like best!
