This video was made for a client as a tutorial since they were not there at the time of the installation. The principles that are established are good to know for clients who are considering ordering Hunter Douglas PowerView motorized window treatments. In this case, the Reno NV client, has the Hunter Douglas Designer Roller Shades along with the Hunter Douglas Luminette Shades installed. Their concern was how will they work their shades conveniently. The video shows how groups were created for the ease of the homeowner.
Something important to keep in mind: Creating a group is the same as having multiple channels activated. For example: If this client presses numbers 1 and 2, it will be the same as pressing the programmed channel number 3. Since this Toll Brothers homeowner has only 4 shades on this remote control, we were able to use two of the available channels as group controls.
If a client has more than 6 window treatments they are trying to control with motorization, they will have to either get multiple remote controls, place multiple window coverings in a single group or use scene controls by way of the Hunter Douglas PowerView hub. This hub allows for individual or group controls for an almost unlimited amount of shades, blinds or shadings.
