How to use the Hunter Douglas PowerView Motorization remote control for Top Down/Bottom Up shades.
The remote is simple when you get used to it, but it is a bit counter intuitive.
Remote and Scene Controller
When you look at the attached picture, you will notice that the remote control has 4 directional buttons.
1. Up – Open
2. Down- Close
3. Side arrow up
4. Side arrow down
When you use these buttons for a top down/bottom up shade, you have to know what they do in order to get the most out of your Hunter Douglas PowerView shades, like these Hunter Douglas Applause Shades.
- The Up or Open button will always raise the all rails to the fully open position under the headrail.
- The Down or Close button will always fully close the shade so the window is covered by the shade.
- The side arrow down button will take the middle rail and lower it. If the shade has to go to the fully covered position first, then that will happen. (See Video)
- The side arrow up button will raise the middle rail to the completely closed position
By setting your favorite PowerView position, you can bypass a lot of these controls and send the shade exactly where you want with the simple touch of the heart button. (See Video)
If you also have multiple PowerView shades in your room, you can set groups of shades with as many shades as you wish on one channel. This room has 2 shades on channel 1, 3 shades on channel 2 and all 5 shades on channel 3. These can be programmed based on the needs in the room. You should be considering adding motorization to your new window treatments. A good consult will make sure you do it right.
