Telescoping drapery rods are not the best choice for homes that are desiring functioning draperies. We always suggest one piece custom rods. Here is why:

- They work better
- They are more stable
- They have more options available

Custom rods are more of an investment, but you get a greater return. I will mention this though; If all you are wanting is a rod to hold stationary side panels, or a valance, then it really doesn’t matter. Google has many telescoping options can work just fine. It won’t have the custom look and all of the available finishes and finials that a custom rod would have, but the bang for the buck is very attractive.
