Vertical Blinds were once an extremely hot segment of the window treatment market. In most cases, they are manufactured to be a low cost covering for patio doors. As a result, the quality of the materials used cause them to be very easily broken.
When you watch the video, you will see a broken vertical blind. Some of the carriers were broken. Some of the vanes were broken, and the track itself was a bit wonky. As a result, the client in Reno NV called us to consult on the replacement of the vertical blind. We chose the Hunter Douglas Luminette shadings. Please watch the attached YouTube video to see the Luminette in action.
As you can see from the video, the basic structure of the Luminette shade is that of vertical blinds. Due to heavy engineering, the durability of the Luminette has been very good. I’m trying to remember how long the Luminette has been out, but in all the years we’ve sold it, I have only had one call back on it.
As I mentioned in the video commentary on YouTube, this product is available with the PowerView motorization. I strongly suggest that clients go this route. I like that with PowerView you don’t have to touch the fabric to adjust the shadings. This client chose the manual route because it was better for their circumstances. Which is better for yours? We’ll have to discuss it together.
